GeoTheo:
You may make some friends here, and you may get compliments. Don't learn to need that. It will destroy you if you let it. There is nothing romantic about living your life according to the Bible. It means you aren't imaginitive enough to find your own truth. As you know Christianity is about admitting that you are a failure in Life and that you need God. You need to count everything you have done in your own strength as a loss. If you try to keep your life you will lose it and if you lose your life for Christ you will gain it.

How... sad, and sick, and self-destructive. What a surefire formula for failure and pain!

Geo, don't you see that you are saying God wants you to fail as a human being? That he considers honesty and respect and strength to be sins?

Here is the evil which wears the mask of good, exposed for all with eyes to see.

What if they aren't wretched?

Assuming they aren't just comfortably deceived about their wretchedness, they don't need religion.

This speaks volumes about Christianity. Thank you for being so blunt about the threat Christianity is to self-respect and any other value worth having.

Yeah, there's that "you weren't a TRUE CHRISTIAN (TM) to begin with if you left it". BULLshit!!

I have also seen many Christians modify their views and adopt more liberal theology. Some people may think that is a good thing. I think perhaps it can be but in some cases it isn't. I say that because if you start modifying what you believe too much you may end up with somthing that is not Christianity. I also think that if you stop believing in Hell, you must ask yourself what justification do you have for believing in Heaven?

This is not a "sexy" concept to people in the world. There is no way to get people to like this idea. It must come from the Holy Spirit. So I ask you:
Make sure God really wants you here. Don't think you will convert any body. People don't come here to hear the gospel and most know all they want to know about Christianity. Also if you just like to debate, realize that you may improve your skills but you won't win any.
Thank you.
Good bye, I don't feel God is calling me to post here any longer. I feel that I have gotten right with God and realized that I had a lot of pride.
Translation: Christianity is a cult, and its underlying assumptions involve self-loathing. Think like the cult and you will be alright with the fairytale. Make sure your cult wants you to be here. Think outside of the cult, and you will only end up leaving the cult. Which must be a terrible thing. So don't do it. Please. Please?

Uh...what exactly is Christianity? I mean there are so many flavors and plently of those flavors claim to be the only true flavor, so how does one really know?

Well I'm comfortable and if I am decieved, I am not aware of it, so I still have no need of religion.

Religion is either the finest con game ever invented or the nastiest form of mind control. Break you down make you feel like shit then offer you the only cure for the disease they cultured. Either way it is sure a fucked up way to go through life.
