Lightbulb Quotations of Christ on the Separation of Church and State

I have found, when arguing against Christians on the separation of church and state, that where quoting the Founding Fathers fails, nothing succeeds like quoting a much older and more revered source: Jesus Christ himself.

When Christ was alive, his followers wanted him to lead them into Jerusalem, so that they could overthrow the Roman occupation. They promised him that if he led them into battle, they would make him their king. He told them, "My kingdom is not of this Earth." He later reiterated this position, when he was on trial, charged with impersonating a king.

In response to an inquiry concerning whether Hebrew tithe customs referred to pre-tax or after-tax earnings, Jesus pointed to a Roman coin, and said, "Whose face do you see here? Caesar, right? Render unto Caesar that which is due Caesar, and unto God that which is due God." (In an ironic contrast, Christians of today point to the US dollar, and say, "See, it even says so on the money! Now give Jesus his throne in Washington!")

No more eloquent words have ever been spoken on the separation of church and state, and no Christian would dare argue with the words of Christ himself.
