Group wants anti-gay outreach at Disney

By MIKE BRANOM
ASSOCIATED PRESS WRITER

ORLANDO, Fla. -- A conservative Christian organization wants the no-fly zone over Walt Disney World to be removed so it can fly banners touting an anti-homosexuality Web site over a gay festival this week.

The Virginia-based Family Policy Network claims the no-fly zone infringes upon its right to preach freely during the Gay Days celebration.

The group hopes to include as part of its outreach planes pulling banners reading: "JESUS CHRIST: HOPE FOR HOMOSEXUALS.COM," according to Joe Glover, the organization's president.

[...]
The airspace above Disney World has been free of aircraft since March, when the government said the resort was a potential terrorism target.

A lawsuit by the Family Policy Network and an aerial advertising company seeking a temporary rollback of the restrictions is expected to be filed in federal court in Orlando this week.
So the airspace was closed because of security concerns. "But wait! We have all these gays in one place at one time! What an opportunity to witness to them! Can't you roll back national security measures for our evangelization purposes?"

Default Florida bigots?

ummm ya might have thought a little bit more about the title of this thread. According to what you posted, they are Virginia bigots, not Florida bigots.

That being said, I sure hope the courts don't give them the time of day, much less any exception.

That's just laughable. If the courts do give in (I don't see how they could in this case) then I anticipate more lawsuits from the people whose safety has been compromised to accommodate bigoted free speech. There is nothing stopping these jerks from buying tickets and preaching on the inside.

I can sure think of a few other things I'd like to say as well....

Sauron -- I can change the name of the thread if you like.
