Post Franklin Graham on the founding fathers

<a href="http://www.washingtontimes.com/national/20020808-13967463.htm" target="_blank">Graham Speaks Out</a>

Quote:
The next night, while signing copies of his latest book, "The Name," at a downtown Barnes & Noble, Mr. Graham said God had blessed the United States because of the nation's Christian heritage. "This country was not built by Hindus, nor Muslims, nor atheists," he said. "It was built by Christian men and women."

. . .

Over the past few years, he has increasingly been filling in for his ailing father, including the delivery of the opening prayer at the 2001 inauguration of President Bush. He and the Rev. Kirbyjon Caldwell, who delivered the benediction, were both criticized by nonbelievers for praying, as Christian clergymen do, in the name of Jesus Christ.
The president was later sued over those prayers, he said, by Michael Newdow, the California atheist whose lawsuit against public schools regarding the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance won a favorable ruling in June from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

When a suicide bomber straps on a bomb, that's not peaceful. The Baptists are not doing that. Neither are the Pentecostals."

They drop their bombs from airplanes or use missiles.

The Race is on Between F. Graham and his sister Lott over who will ascend to daddy's multi-million dollar empire. Make no mistake. As usual, this is about greenbacks.

Watch out for those Catholics, Lutherans, Methodists, Episcopalians, and Presbyterians with bulgy midsections, though!

Yeah, well Rome was built by pagans and fell after the Christians gained power, why didn't god blesserize them.

God's blessings must be short ones anyway. Look at how brief peace and prosperity last here in the most blesserized of countries. It's been just over a century since we split and killed each other for five years. We can't stay out of war for more than a decade.

I hear ya talkin Franky boy. Keep the party line and daddy's empire is yorn.

A friend of mine, an ex-preacher-turned-atheist-philosophy major, used to, in a convincing Billy Graham voice, say:

"Day-vid Slew the Beah;
With youah Money, we stay on the aiah."

Obviously, because they weren't True Christians until God inspired King James to translate the Bible into a real language.

It always amuses me when Protestants claim that the KJV is the only true version; the Anglican Church was, and is, rooted in Catholicism. Not to mention that wee Jimmy was strongly influenced by Calvinism.

Exclamation

If I believed in a God, I might thank It that I was not born into that family!
