Default Bible Code II: The Countdown

I see that Michael Drosnin's latest book, "Bible Code II: The countdown", has been released.

His previous book was no doubt an embarrassment to him, due to the number of rebuttals (finding similar predictions in Moby Dick, for example). Still, he has thousands of followers.

Does anyone know of any sites that aim to refute his latest book? I was having an argument with someone who really *does* believe that god is trying to tell us (through Drosnin) that the world is going to end in 2006, but couldn't find much information about his latest book.

I guess the doom-mongers will have to be right eventually. If they keep shifting there date of destruction forward 5 years then eventually they'll prove us all wrong.

I'm guessing the Skeptic Dictionary will address this when it comes out.

I got a good belly laugh out of this, just for the way you put it. Thanks. You mind if I quote you sometime?

LOL, a 15-year-old cousin tried to get my little sister to believe that "Bible Code I" had some theological merit. She laughed in his face. She's only 12 and she's xtian, and she's still saw right away what a crock it was. I just about died laughing when he tried to convince *me* that I shouldn't mock it.

I seem to recall seeing a number of very carefully worded denials from other people who were involved; basically, they said "we found something we can't explain, but this guy is a moron".

Default If you are watching the commercials

If you are watching a commercials on TV and say the next one will be a McDonald's commercial, then I am sure you will get it right within a night's viewing.

I am sure the world will go through some rough patches as usual, and it is quite plausible the human race could undergo a comparable fate to what happened in WW1 or II, and I a sure there would be a select few amongst the billions who put their hands up and claim they predicted it with very convincing "proof" of their predictions. But no one wants to know about millions of times as many failed predictions.
