Default what do you make of this, Fundies?

A 15 year old local girl has a brain tumor and will probably die because of it. I told this Fundie friend of mine this and he said he almost envied her. What kind of sick mind would think like that? Do all Fundies have a death wish or was he trying to impress me with his devotion to God that he welcomes death so freely?

I hope his kids don't have to go through what this young girl is suffering now.

That is horrible. Life on earth is sinful and evil, and the quicker you get out the better I guess is the xtian attitude. People can be pretty cruel and clueless.

Wow, that's horrible. Suggest that he goes and hangs around some radioactive waste or something, maybe if he's lucky he'll get cancer!

Really can't justify Fundies' reasoning on so many things.

Happily ---Fundies are just a minority of mainstream Christianity.

And also ---happily--- the really strange fundies are just a minority of a minority.

And we can all thank God for that --(whoops --excuse my French)

While this kind of thing sickens me, I have to applaud the man for at least taking his faith to the rational conclusion. After all, if you can be free of all suffering and pain and get to sing praise to your God in heaven after you die, wouldn't you want to get there as soon as possible?

My guess is that he thinks that such a death is a ticket to Heaven, because if he dies in that fashion, he can then brag that he did not cause his death.

But then again, where are those whose last words are

"See you in Heaven"

???

Well, I certainly wouldn't envy the girl. She must be suffering terribly, and no matter how strong your faith it must be a terrible burden for such a young person to know that their life is about to end. But, on the other hand, I have known people that died young and while I miss them terribly I know that they had great pain in this life that they are now free of. Just my thoughts...

Angry

That Fundie, IMNSHO, is making a mockery of that girl's life, of her humanity, and her suffering.

My big sister had an always fatal kind of brain tumor, an astrocytoma, and died 14 months after diagnosis at the tender age of 42. She was a beautiful, vibrant young woman and nobody know how long she had been sick with it. She's been dead almost 13 years and I miss her terribly every single day of my life.

In fact today is her birthday, June 27th, and if she was alive she would be 55.

Cancer of any kind is tragic, but brain cancer in a young person is horrendous. I know. The process of dying in slow motion, as parts of the body become paralysed, is horrible to watch.
I've been there. My parents and I were ripped apart for years at losing her. And I became an only child at age 35, which is truly a strange and weird sensation.

If I met that fundie, I think I would tell him what I've been through, and then slap the shit out of him and tell him to go play in the street since he wants to go to Heaven that badly.

Idiots!!
