Don't project your own wretchedness onto others.

Bye, Geo, you will be missed. I remember your conversion, deconversion, and reconversion to evolutionism.

I can actually agree with the main point of the original post. Not the self-denial that other people are picking on (at least, only partially), but the idea that by coming here I have more chance of lowering the number of Roman theists in the world than of raising it. The gods may or may not want me to come here; I don't know about that. I do know that I have little hope of accomplishing my longtime goal of getting a number of these atheists to worship the Roman gods. Bringing about a second Jovian reign is a hard goal to work on, but there must be a better way than witnessing to hardcore skeptics.

This board is the boxing ring of two worldviews. Atheism wants to make the universe into a decentralized place where nothing is better than anything else, then have it accelerate forward into infinity. Yahweh wants to separate the wheat from the chaff, and treat each appropriately. Neither goal is desirable for a pagan.

GeoTheo is right to think that this board represents a triumph of atheism. The atheists here are not interested in coming to either Yahweh or Jupiter. In the beginning, I thought these atheists were just a bunch of anti-Christians who would be more favorable to other religions. True to some extent, but not true enough.

I enjoy this board, in spite of all. Still, I would like a better way to serve the Roman gods, and bring back their rule, than posting here. I'm not posting as much lately, and that was probably arranged by the gods. Jupiter will succeed in restoring a realm for himself, whether it's through me or someone else. But converting the Internet Infidels to religion does seem hopeless.:boohoo:

Ojuice, you have the same burden the Christians do: if you want us to worship your gods, first you're going to have to show conclusive evidence that they exist.

Seems to me Geo, that you're afraid that some Christians visiting this board on a regular basis may deconvert and WE WOULDN'T WANT THAT! Especially since those of us going the other way is very minimal. I know you're probably interpreting this as atheism presents an "easy" life unlike your Christianity, instead of just a rational one, also unlike your Christianity.

Rationality winning out more often than superstition and myth is a positive in my estimation.

Christians, be careful that this appeal to rationality may begin to make sense to you! Evidence is also provided daily on this site that people can live happy, thoughtful, caring lives without a god. That may also be dangerous to your current worldview, if you want to keep it, so beware.

False dillema. There are MANY more worldviews here than two.

I don't recall saying I wanted that. And atheism isn't a worldview. Is bald a haircolor?

Anti-christian? Perhaps a few. I for one am willing to leave theists alone on the subject of religion if they leave me alone on the subject of my lack of it. And you're right, we're not interested in approacing deities we aren't convinced exist. But that's been hashed over too many times already.

Why attribute to the gods what can be explained through simple examination of circumstances? You've said yourself you're efforts to convert people here have been rather fruitless, maybye you're just fruistrated. No string-pulling deity required.

I'll believe it when I see it. You see it when you believe it. That's the real difference; for atheists, belief has to be earned, we don't give it away for nothing.

Show me where I've done that, and we'll talk.

Gee, thanks, Godless. No doubt reading whatever Daggah said would have sent me into a suicidal depression.

What the hell are we here, a bunch of wusses who cringe at the sight of a wet noodle brandished in anger?
