Default Did Hitler ever exist?

Not sure where to put this so I'll try miscellaneous.

It seems very fashionable these days for non-theists to believe that Jesus never existed.

However, in the late 60's I came across a book written for the purpose of provibg that Hitler never existed. Indeed , from what I recall, the evidence was quite overwhelming.

Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of it or the title.

Does this ring any bells with anyone?

Seriously, the case for Hitler's non-existence was very convincing and that was only 20 odd years after the war.

Your book doesn't ring any bells with me, and the Third Reich is a minor hobby of mine. Not that it really matters.
Mr. H. was the most photographed figure of the 20th century--Madonna notwithstanding. We have pictures. We have speeches. We have samples of his handwriting. We have a traceable family history. Hey, we even have a book written by the man himself --something that other guy can't claim.

And unlike all those depictions in all the churches, we really have no idea what Jesus looked like. It's just human nature to believe that someone who is good just has to be beautiful.
I don't know about Jesus being fictional--my guess is he wasn't--but the idea isn't simply fashionable. It's been puttering around for at least a century or so.

Sorry, malookiemaloo, but you're planning to make a "comparison", it won't work. Try again.

Don't forget there are probably hundreds or even thousands of living people who saw him with their own eyes.

I suppose I didn't really expect a particularly sympathetic response to my question.

However I shall continue my search and you may hear from me again...............

Thanks anyway.

We also have the Volkswagen Beetle. After all, it was Uncle Adolph himself who drew the original sketch that was the inspiration for the car.

Don't you just love that blonde haired, blue eyed Jesus in most religious iconography? How did a middle eastern Jew get turned into someone who could pass for an Aryan?

On a side note, I guess I'm not the only night owl.
