Hmmm... I've heard of plenty of non-Catholics who claim to communicate with god. Although, I don't see how prayer is communication. I believe that communication is a two-way street, and I never got any returns from prayer. Might as well just do as George Carlin does and pray to Joe Pesci, I'd get the same results!

I don't see mystics like Catherine of Siena, Teresa of Avila, Blessed Angela of Foligno, John of the Cross, Margaret Mary Alacoque or Gemma Galgani in the Protestant tradition.

No, Protestants don't have mystics, or Trappists, or Carthusians. Protestant theology is problematic. Martin Luther never intended on starting his own theology.

I would say the celibacy for priest. Paul the apostle never said anything about mandatory celibacy, but he did say that "it would be better if a servant of God remain celibate."

You take away sex and masturbation, what do you expect this priest and laymen (hahaha laymen, fits the description) to do all the days of their lives? Pray, gimme a break. They are people too--who have needs, carnal needs. I'm so sorry for these fools.

Again - what is your point? If you would care to give a concise argument about the problems of Protestant vs. Catholic theology please take it to the appropriate forum. However, I don't see why Protestants have any problem when they fail to pray to dead people who, sometimes centuries later have been held up as "saints" for doing some of the most bizzare, sadistic, and "magical" things ... not all saints, but sooooooo many of them.

As a recovered Catholic I understand the whole saint mumbo-jumbo. By can't you see how other people might just find it strange (including the lack of Scriptural support) that Catholics pray to dead people, especially since they pray to these different saints to either help with the sale of a home, the birth of a child, or whatever else and how that is sooooooooo very close to what pagans do ... you know praying to different gods and goddesses to help with the same sorts of things? Catholics have more demi-gods (aka saints) I think then even the Hindus.
