Post Wacky conspiracy theory? The McVeigh-Iraq connection.

I need some input about this topic. It came up in a conversation with a Fundamentalist Christian who is rather anti-Muslim. It sounds a little out-there, but I'm too lazy to try to dig into this myself. Has anyone done my homework for me already? Is this yet another wacko-conspiracy theory or was Iraq somehow involved in the Oklahoma City bombing?

BS.

Tell your friend to stop being some paranoid nut. I'm sure Saddam would have liked to be in on the action, but that doesn't mean he was!

McVeigh's motivations and movements are fairly well known now. Don't forget that he was a kind of white supremacist and thought less of arabs than your friend does. There was no motivation to work with them and no evidence.

While I agree with you, I'm looking for a more indepth analysis of the supposed evidence for the connection.

It would seem the evidence for this claim rests on the testimony of someone named Abdul Hakim Murad.

GOOD! FREAKING! GODS!

The initial reports were that some "Arabic" men were responsible. That appears to have lead to the shooting of a mosque in the town I was in at the time (Manhattan, KS). There are several levels of irony here: Caucasians were responsible, the truck was rented/bomb assembled only about 30 miles from this that town, any idiot should have seen the connections to the Branch Davidians (date, office the FBI officers came from, WHO THE HELL FROM OVERSEAS WOULD BOTHER WITH SUCH A INSIGNIFICANT TARGET).

Is there just a desire to blame everything on the Muslims? I suppose the answer is no, some blame will be saved for us non-believers. Sorry for the rant, but I had friends who (I think justifiably) were concerned for their lives due solely to their religion or skin color.
