Default Faith Healer Cancels Toronto Trip - SARS

Oral Roberts' web site makes my browser crash so I haven't been able to verify it, but apparently his son Richard has cancelled a trip to Toronto, Canada, due to health concerns arising from the SARS problem in that city.

What browser are you using? There are lots of alternative ones, like Mozilla and Opera, and you may be able to find one which OR's page does not crash.

But I do agree that that faith healer does not seem to have much faith in his healing abilities.

Just barely kept my lunch down while perusing his site, but it's still on the schedule for Oct 31, 2003 in Toronto. If you were motivated, you could call the number and ask if it's still going on.

Cut and paste-

I understand. God is a specialist like Benny Hinn. He only cures diseases that have no definite organic basis, (i.e. hysterical disorder). So SARS is a viral infectious disease. And God never mentions viruses in the Bible. Jesus never mentions viruses when treating Trachoma disease, the most common cause of blindness in the tropics. He also didn't mention bacteria when treating Leprosy.

So God/jesus is woefully ignorant of pathology, and microbiology. It was wise for him to avoid Toronto. He may not be sure that he is not susceptible to SARS. He is omniopent, definitely not omniscient (science illiteracy), and he may not be omni-immune.

And his prophet Oral Roberts, who seems as much like a space alien as I have ever seen, is likely not immune either. I recall reading something of an illness that he sough treatment from a Medical Doctor instead of trusting god. Same with Pat Robertson, who sent his wife to the University Hospital in Richmond, VA when his wife developed breast cancer. He didn't treat her with magical world of knowledge bollocks like his treats his sucker, sorry contributors. Then when Pat himself developed a mass some where in his body immediately (it was Prostate), he saw a medical doctor instead of holding hands with his cronies and ordering Jesus to cure him. Faith Healing is so great that he denies it to his own family but it is fine for his contributors. What a guy!

Default Some Confirmation

This site:

http://www.canadachristiancollege.com/upcoming.html

doesn't say why but the event was rescheduled. Just a coincidence?

This is what Oral Jr.'s promotional flyer has to say:

"'It's time for a Healing Rally!' These are the words the Lord spoke to my heart when He told me that I was to go back to ministering on the field. So we started to hold Healing Rallies in cities where the Lord instructed us to go. We call them Healing Rallies because I believe God wants His people to make a comeback to wholeness! He wants us to rally together as a body of believers, to come into agreement, and to arouse ourselves out of weakness and into abundant life and health!"

I guess the people of Toronto are just going to have to wait until God tells Oral Jr. when its time to reschedule. It's too bad though because the city could've really used a healing right now.

I note also that Dr. Don Colbert M.D., a frequent guest on Christian TV and the author of best selling books:

Toxic Relief
Walking in Divine Health
Bible Cures
What Would Jesus Eat?

Has also rescheduled his Biblical Health Care Conference & Expo.

I was once treated by an oral surgeon with the last name of Roberts. This was in the '70s, and I still remember Oral Roberts!

Has anyone bothered to ask this question in Christian forums?
