Post One Scary Dude...

Although not from someone posting on II, on another board, this one gives me the shivers:
Quote:
If your "science" contradicts the clear teachings of the Bible then you are leading yourself and others into ignorance and darkness rather than the truth. The Bible is not a textbook of science, but when it makes statements about the Creation of the universe and man those statements are true despite your interpretations of nature. To teach Darwinism in schools and not Creationism is to lead people astray from the truth.
Why do I hear the echo of the muezzin and the answering roar of the mujaheddin rather than the ringing of church bells in this statement?

Well, I guess it has the advantage of ending the conversation. I mean, where can you go from here?

That sounds like an adaptation of the CRI membership requirements.

"If reality conflicts with the bunch of lies I have put tremendous emotional attachment onto due to intense brainwashing as a youngster, I will have to close my eyes and put my hands of my ears and scream until it hopefully goes away. This is the real foundation of creationism, it's nothing more than bullshit." That would be more descriptive.

Ask him if he would rather place his life in an airplane designed on the principle that Pi~3.149..., or on the biblical principle that Pi=3.

Personally, I would bet my life on 3.149.

Why? Why not?: Personally, I would bet my life on 3.149.
DNAunion: I probably wouldn't want to fly in a plane designed using either number. Pi is 3.1415926535 (sorry, I have only the first 11 significant figures memorized). Having 9 as the fourth sig fig is as far away from the actual digit - 1 - as one can get: I wouldn't want to "bet my life" on something that imprecise.

You know what I like about reality? It's true! Gotta love that! But some don't like that for some odd reason which I can't figure out. Very sad.
