On the contrary, the basis for it is on this very page. I never said anything that would indicate I thought parents were necessarily more moral than paid care providers, and you clearly implied that the idea might be news to me.

I mean it's no big deal, but you do yourself a disservice by your inability to admit even a trivial error.

I don't see that you have actually pointed out an error, but it seems when fatherphil point out an error I made earlier in the thread I was more then able to admit it so I take contention with your statement that I have an "inability" to admit error. It seems much to the contrary.

I would point out that most people are capable of admitting error to some degree. If they weren't, society would grind to a halt overnight when everybody started arguing about absolutely everything. It's only when a person's ego is attached to that error that it becomes a problem. Whether this explains your inability to see what I'm saying or whether I'm just incompetent in my attempt to convey the idea I can't say for sure, so I guess I'll just have to let it drop.

Interesting report, brighid. Thanks for providing it. I don't think my friend has any qualms about putting her daughter in day care (especially given her lack of workable alternatives), but if she does, I'll be sure to send her the link. She's a scientist too, so she likes evidence and studies as much as I do.
