Darth Dane,

Quote:

Ok, I don't know what a soul is.
Then why did you start this thread in the first place?!

Quote:

Maybe you do!
I do not. If I did, why would I ask you what it is?

Quote:

If you don't know what a soul is or don't believe in the concept of "soul", then what is in me?
Assuming that you're a fully-functional human being, then your brain, your skeleton, your muscles, your vital organs, and other such things are in you.

You keep avoiding my question: Why do you ask such inane, easy-to-answer questions?.

Quote:

I never said souls exist, read what I write.
Wrong. You said:

Quote:

How can I define something if I don't know if it exists?
I am to define the unknown?
How so?
Because I hold a belief?
You hold a belief that souls exist, whence you claimed that souls exist. Please, pay attention!

Quote:

You may say that the concept of "soul" is just an idea in someones head, and thus not real.
I have said no such thing.

Quote:

How can we disprove what we cannot prove?
You keep spewing forth this assertion that it is impossible to prove that a soul exists or does not exist, and you still have not proven this assertion! To borrow a quote from Resevoir Dogs, "Are you gonna bark all day, little doggie? Or are you gonna bite?"

Quote:

Yes, it would ne you,
Agreed.

Quote:

but if an angel directs you, you cannot see it can you?
Irrelevant.

Quote:

Imagine this is "God" talking. God's body is the universe, and all contained within the universe, are all the parts that God is comprised of. This also means you and me.
Imagine we on earth are the "heart" of the universe, then we don't treat our heart very well.
We are like a virus that keeps reproducing until the host is dead, in this case, earth.
Oooohkay....SO FREAKING WHAT?!

Quote:

Is this a good story?
No, it's downright awful. A retarded child could probably write a more interesting story. More importantly, a retarded child could probably write a story that had more relevance to the topic at hand than your ridiculous story did.

Sincerely,

Goliath

If I am empty, ie. no soul, just my brain computing away, then who is in me?
No one is in you. You are you. Breaking down a whole into its composite parts for description does not negate the whole. I can go on all day about my heart, but in the end my heart is still me. So unless you're talking about the numerous parasites in your body, I fail to understand the point of such a question.

And as a note, I'm still waiting to be enlightened about free will:

But what about the soul?

Could it reside in God?
Perhaps God instructs the soul, and we are just the carriers.

IF there was a soul contained in your body, can you say it is YOUR soul?

But if the soul is in the body, are there angels in the soul? What is an angel? Can anyone say?

Maybe?

sorry

You are far from "empty" Darth Dane

Every human and animal has a soul. Even a grasshopper.

I believe that our soul continues on after we physically die and then we live eternally in another realm.

I wish I had the time to get into the angels topic. We're surrounded by them always. They love us.

Every human and animal has an (aura/chi/spirit/latent psychic power) . We are surrounded by (leprechauns/ghosts/elves/aliens) at all times.

*chuckle*

I left out ancestor spirits, magic, time travellers, and whole horde of other outrageous claims as well.

I donno - I have my own odd quircks of belief in things that are no where near proven as well, I just dislike seeing such things being presented as fact. So, no insult intended, although I imagine you are relatively immune to such things after so long here, eh?

Astrology is my personal achilles heel, if anyone is looking for future ammunition. We all have our quirks and illogical beliefs, I suppose...

I did not realize it was presented as a fact, I usually am more careful about adding "I believe" before things. but yeah I have that immunity
so no harm no foul

Typical atheist lampooning. Take no notice.
