Post Are 1 dimensional strings still the basis for all particles?

In M-theory, there are now 1-10 dimensional strings. Do these new, higher-dimensional strings play a part in creating particles, or does that role soley belong to the the one dimensional strings?

These 1 dimensional strings seem to be vibrations on higher dimensional branes. So yes, they are still fundemental particles in M theory.
