Post Seven-headed Dragons and Unicorns

It seems while I was out for the weekend that this topic, as a side issue was - a never answered by our dear Gemma (as predicted - am I a prophet?)

I will assume for arguments sake that Gemma believes what is contained in the Bible, and although she feels it is foolish to believe in pink dragons, possibly even fairies and leprechauns too because one must be a "sucker" to believe in such things AND they aren't in the Bible! However, if she honestly admits her belief in the Bible and all that is contained in it she must also believe in red seven-headed dragons and unicorns.

So, I will provide the Biblical "proof" that states a Christian should potentially have a belief in such things. Would this God provide false information?

Unicorns – as referenced in the Bible …
Num 23:22
Job 39:9, 10
Psa 29:6
Psa 92:10 - But my horn shalt thou exalt like [the horn of] a unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.

Dragons and Leviathans as referenced in the Bible …

Rev. 12:3 … behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns …

Isa 27:1 – the Lord shall punish leviathan, the piercing serpent … and shall slay the dragon that (is) in the sea (could it have been a pink dragon?)

Job 41:1-34, specifically 19 – even a fire breathing dragon/leviathan
Neh 2:13
Psa 91:13
Isa 51:9
Jer 51:34
Eze 29:30
Rev 12:3,4,7,9,13,16,17
Rev 13:2,4,11
Rev 16:13
Rev 20:2

So – do you believe in red, seven-headed dragons, dragons that live in the sea, and even ones that breathe fire now that you have been reminded about what the inspired writers of the Bible (the infallible word of God) has to say on the subject?

I had my suspicions that you would continue to refuse to answer those questions and your actions proved those suspicions to be correct. But I bet deep down in some cavern of your consciousness that you keep well restrained, where logic and reason reside, you REALLY don’t believe in the existence of any kind of dragon or unicorns even if the Bible tells you so. So, go ahead and be honest with yourself and us and just say NO – I don’t believe in dragons and anybody who does (regardless of their color) is a “sucker.”

You guys crack me up! Well, I personally have no problem believing in the possible existence of a prehistoric beast much like a dragon and I don’t see unicorns as being improbable. A horse with a horn on it’s head isn’t that far fetched – but the magical powers attributed to them … well, that’s another story.

The purpose of this thread, as it was closed while I was out for the weekend was to help shed some light into Gemma’s dim sky about who is and who isn’t a sucker. I know, it is likely not to make a difference for these things “mysteriously” are either apologized or explained away. It was just allegorical after all The Bible contains a few stories about fantastical beasts when placed into another cultures mythos suddenly become ridiculous to believe, but when in ones own mythos are logical. It’s hypocritical at best to say pink unicorns are only to be believed by suckers and then have your own holy book talk about seven-headed RED ones, ones that swim in the sea, and breathe fire and to consider that book the word of an infallible God!

Brighid,

I do not interpret the Bible literally.

"Bediah, his servants. There shall in that time be rumours of things going astray, erm, and there hall be a great confusion as to where things really are, and nobody will really know where lieth those little things wi-with the sort of raffia-work base, that has an attachment. At that time, a friend shall lose his friends hammer, and the young shall not know where lieth the things possessed by their fathers that their fathers put there only just the night before, about eight O'clock."

So it has been told, so it shall be.

Ps I understand that the dragon is from Revelations, which is meant to be a cryptic and metaphorical (similical?) prophesy, or a bad mushroom trip, or possibly both

Well, can anyone actually have an “vision” such as depicted in Revelations any other way than being on a trip from some hallucinatory drug, or perhaps mentally ill, or in some other mental stupor?
