Lightbulb Christians - They just don't get it.

I'm bangin' my head against a wall. I've visited a christian discussion board www.apologetics.com and I am getting no where.
It's not that I want them to turn from their god. I am just thowing out some thoughts and they don't listen and they twist things around. I am listed in www.apologetics.com as LiberatedGoddess. I visted the ethics forum and spoke out about how christians stand idly by while people are being beaten down in the name of Christ. I also visted the bible forum and questioned prophecy. These people go on tangents and don't get it. Excuses and turning the issues around and incorrect answers regarding history.

Check out what I said and their responses. Feel free to add to what I've said on the appolgetics.com post. We can come back here and work out future responses.

Christianity is so busted that I wonder why I bother myself. I am an ex-christian and I think it helps to see the close mindedness. I am not sure if any of them will ever "get it". When I go into the discussion board and see their responses I get concerned and know that I am on the RIGHT path!!!

LiberatedGoddess, to me the incredibly sad thing about all this is that people do need guidance on how to live life well and how to live in peace and harmony with everyone and how to behave towards your family and community. I see Christianity as this disgusting pig of an ethos, gobbling up the minds of humanity and not delivering the goods. Maybe not making the world any worse than it was but also not allowing anything else that might have a chance of improving the world take its place. The farce is made all the worse by Christians constantly parading the thought processes of the first century as if it was something special when all while suppressing an incredibly new and powerful way of thinking about our surroundings that is science. It sickens me to think of it, I begin to rage at the stupidity and insanity that is religion.

(Wait.....)

(Wait.....)

OK, I have calmed down. Sorry about the rant.

yeah I am sure that does not go over well at a CHRISTIAN site...

what exactly do you mean by they don't get it? what don't they get? your point of view? perhaps they do understand your point, they just do not share it...

translation: I post on a christian board and I feel frustrated because they are not responding how I want them to. How about coming over there and helping me out, then we can come back here and figure out an angle

Brutal, Amie.

Accurate, but brutally so.

(This short a post and I still misspell something.)

That's pretty much it.
I thought that was obvious in my first post.

More time on this site and view of other warped Xians discussion boards does make it feel useless to even bother or to encourage any one else to.

Being an an ex-christian does make it tempting to want to go to their discussion boards and shake things up. I guess that's the devil inside of me.

I feel your pain.

Think about it this way. Christians don't even agree amongst themselves and anyone outside their own box is wrong even if they both worship the same deity.

The first thing that jumped out at me on their opening page was about cults - calling other Christians cult members. Even they can't see the cult they are involved in too.

You can observe on almost every Christian web page or program whether radio or TV and in almost any literature that some group is being put down. Listen for 5 minutes and you can almost bet that someone or group is being demonized. Either that or they are lashing out at their own. If you think about the kind of lives they must live being constantly bombarded with all the negativity it helps understand their problems. For me I steer away from them most of the time because I am tired of the negativity. It really does positive wonders when you keep clear of them.

I do remember how it was when I was a Christian and hearing the constant put downs of everyone. Its amazing to be free and clear of it.

Debbie I don't think you're wrong for not believing. Whats "right" for me can be "wrong" for you, whats "right" for you can be "wrong" for me...such is life...

I don't agree with those judgements passed on by some either...

I admit that does happen, I haven't noticed the frequency though...
