Post You Will Live Forever in A Paradise on Earth

Most fundamentalists believe in the resurrection of the body. That means that they actually do have a vision of a corporeal paradise some time in the (not too distant) future.

My questions about what will happen once the second coming of Christ occurs, all us sinners are banished, and the earth is once again populated by perfect people, are too many to list here. But here are a few biggies:

1. Since the lion will lie down with the lamb, are you all going to be vegetarians? No more prime rib, huh? Damn...

2. Will you continue to be able to have children? With no more death, things could get a bit crowded.....

3. On the other hand, if there isn't going to be any more reproducin' goin' on, won't y'all get tired of staring at the same old (eternally youthful) faces for eternity?

4. No more sin, eh? What's going to happen to free will? Or is that going to fall by the wayside, along with Satan himself? And if God can create this paradise for you, why didn't he just do so in the first place? Why make us go through all this, excuse me, HELL? Was it all just some big cosmic test?

Anyway those are the biggies. Any help with these questions would be appreciated.

May I add?

What are you going to do when the sun goes out?

We may not have to wait for the sun to go out. According to some, the galaxy Andromeda and the Milky Way are on a collision course, and may collide in @3 billion years. If we're on the wrong side of the galaxy when that happens (the collision side) it could be an early death for the solar system.

Bablefish,

The lion is our ego and the lamb is our true indetinty.

There is sex in heaven but by a neutered female and male. Just think, no more condoms needed.

Not to worry, our appetite will be gone long before our sex organs wear out.

Instead of just pretending that we have a free will we will actually have one.

Amos

Thanks for all the helpful replies. I've been thinking about posting a question like this on the Baptist Board or on Christian Chat, but I feel sort of unmotivated because I can already envision the answers:

"God doesn't have to explain everything to you....If God can do anything, He can surely stop our planet from being consumed by the sun..., etc. etc."

Amos, I really want to thank you because your answers were at least a little creative and somewhat unexpected.

Did you know that "You can live forever in Paradise on Earth" is also the title of a Jehovah's Witness book?

Yep, I have that book. I also have another book, called "Life: How did it get here?" Years ago there were these two JW ladies that used to come around and try to convert me. I'd invite them in and they would give me pamphlets and books, and we'd have the best discussions.

(edited to correct dumb mistakes.)

So whatever gave you the idea that I did not know what I am talking about?

Amos, very much interested in that neutered male and female having sex in heaven. Seems a bit of a problem with no sex organs or do I misunderstand your definition of neuter. I have been exposed to Amos-think for a while now and anticipate that you will say that they will have sex organs, but be non-gendered in their metaphysical minds ,which are catholic, and in heaven. OK

You've come along way my friend, and I might just drag you into the virgin department of Mary.
