Default William Pryor Nominated for 11th Circuit Court

I'm going to make a blogger do all the heavy lifting:

Demagogue

Quote:
Pryor is perhaps the most egregious Bush nominee to date. A Federalist Society member, he has repeatedly provided a "vigorous defense" for "Ten Commandments Judge" Roy Moore in his various lawsuits.

...During a rally protesting the separation of church and state in 1997, standing along-side the likes of Ralph Reed and Alan Keyes, Pryor confessed that he became a lawyer "because I wanted to fight the ACLU." He then proclaimed that "I will never forget Jan. 22, 1973, the day seven members of our highest court ripped the Constitution and ripped the life out of millions of unborn children"...
Jeez. This one sounds like a real winner.

Oh, joy! Frankly, I'd rather have Richard Pryor for that post.

If we need God to help us, we're clearly doomed. Unless, of course, as some suspect, God looks after good atheists.

Great, at this rate his next nominee will be Tomas de Torquemada, and they will complain that the opposition is anti-hispanic when they oppose him.

If the current GOP strategy-- of branding the Democrats racists for opposing the appointment of reactionary judges who happen to be members of a minority group-- succeeds in convincing the American people of the Democrat's "racism," while allowing the GOP to claim the moral high ground when it comes to racial equality, then it's proof enough that the American public will believe anything.

No. He's just the right wing nutcase Attorney General of Alabama. He defended an Alabama law in front of the 11th Circuit that made it illegal to sell dildos.

If he decides Judge Moore's case, we might as well establish a theocracy and get it over with. I knew this was coming. It's a sad day.

I can hardly wait for the Judiciary Committee to notice this:

Quote:
Alabama argues "a ban on the sale of sexual devices and related orgasm stimulating paraphernalia is rationally related to a legitimate legislative interest in discouraging prurient interests in autonomous sex" and that "it is enough for a legislature to reasonably believe that commerce in the pursuit of orgasms by artificial means for their own sake is detrimental to the health and morality of the State." Appellant's Brief at 13, 16.
Williams v Pryor

Orgasms are detrimental to the health and morality of the State? That's unAmerican!! He's clearly unfit!
