Lightbulb worship the devil to stop war

Since this current Iraq war will apparently be fought for the sake of GOD, it makes sense that one must worship Satan to stop it.
And that is what one Iraqi . <a href="http://www.timesonline.co.uk/printfriendly/0,,1-3-512705,00.html" target="_blank">Satanists</a>community has done.

(If the link does not work just go to <a href="http://www.timesonline.co.uk" target="_blank">www.timesonline.co.uk</a> and search for 'peacock angel')

Apparently this community worships both Lucifer and God. According to them after Lucifer's fall, he was again reinstated in God's favour and became the second in command in Heaven. (obviously Jesus would not figure anywhere in this mythology. Jesus is inferior to Satan!)
And their book is called the Black Book.

They are now praying hard to Satan to stop the war.

Any Satanists here?

Satan is just the metaphor for the spark of rationality that tries to break through the chains of mythology binding the mind and shackles of ignorance suppressing the intellect.

Most Satanists that I know really don't believe in a real being called Satan. He is just a symbol of rebellion against superstition and ignorance of Christian and Muslim mythology.

Maybe the best way to avert the US-Iraqi War is to mediate with a team of firm Atheists, who can declare their true neutrality between Allah and Joe Hovah.

It would be nice if not impossible to convince both sides that Allah and Joe Hovah are totally gabberloony ideas. File them in the rubbish can and start looking to solve real life problems. Leave imaginary beings in the rubbish where they belong. (Except for costume makers at Halloween.)

I am afraid there is one god above these two.
He is called Black Gold or simply OIL.
His will will prevail.

You may be surprised to find that It is not only atheist who could claim nutrality between the two. People who see them selves as spiritual and sometimes only so for lack of a more accurate discription can see themselves as neutral to all belief systems. When you take into consideration that no system to date has shown itself to be the fix this is an alternative they see. The thinking that through discussion all parties involved could discover something none of them were aware of can make a push toward collaboration very desiable in fact. It is unfortunate that opposing sides are usually so dug-in that winning the debate/"Conversation" seems more important than discovery does. I think the repeated opting for this "winning" is related to how "History repeats itself".

Cool

There are several subversive religious groups in the past against God worship. Modern Satanists tend not to believe in the Devil as a personal entity, but Satan is not the only rebellious "Diety" invoked by those who wish to perserve intellectual and spiritual autonomy.

The neo-paganism and pantheism among the Romantic poets, the "decadence movement" in France, the gnostic Christians, the figure of Prometheus and Dionysus, occultists, Dadaists, etc, are several such invocations. They are vital and creative forces in human civilization which, in my opinion, should not be subdued under any purely rationalistic philosophy.

I think that to throw out religion would be throwing out the baby with the bath water. I think it would be a lot of work to organize groupings of people starting from scratch with new beliefs. I think that instead or reinventing the wheel it would be easier to repair religion. You cant change anyone but your self though and when you change others change. Religion will adapt and reflect the level of enlightenment the people are ready for. We have to choose if we want to carve out a world with bombs or Love.

That reminds me of Luke Skywalker about his father (Anakin become Darth Vader) in ROTJ: "He still has some good in him". Which is great for a movie, but in reality doesn't catch on.

Christianity and Islam do not have any good in them. They're rotten, exclusivist trees, producing rotten, hateful, murderous fruit. There's no point in reforming religions that claim to be the One and Only Truth. The only solution is to keep them tamed, as Mustafa Kemal Ataturk did for Islam in Turkey. Clarify, once and for all, that Allah and Jehovah are not the One and Only God, but just two members of a large pantheon that includes the Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Norse etc gods. The key to taming the exclusivist religions is secularism: establishing a rule that prohibits those religions from acting out their cancerous teachings.

"Love", "Hare Krishna" and "Give Peace a Change" don't work. The advocates of those fluffy slogans will only get a black eye from those who have the One and Only Way (the exclusivists). The only solution is to fight fire with fire, and curb the evil tendencies of exclusivist religions with an iron fist.

It's the same caboodle.

You think there'd be a difference between people who worships God and the devil.

People worship the devil a long time ago. The almighty then was believed to be a jealous one. The people must regularly offer live sacrifices to appease him.

People now worship a God, who is benevolent and merciful. And yet, we continue to murder one another everyday.
