Angry More Helen crap on the BB

Now that stupid bitch is trying to link racism and evolution. I think it's funny she ran off after getting spanked here a couple of months ago. No spine at all...her or her moronic husband...

(Re-reading) Or maybe you mean, spanked here, so she ran away *there*, until the new board structure was in place. I see.

Too bad she's cracking on Darwin. My impression from reading The Moral Animal by R Wright is that Darwin didn't have a racist bone in his body.

Don't worry. We're handling her. She won't last much longer.

I worry about her crap in the "What is Evolution?" thread.

He was not a rabid red-neck, but he shared in the prejudice of his society. By 2002 standards, Darwin was a racist. But then again so was Lincoln and almost anyone else of any note at the time. Wallace was one of the few exceptions, but he still a cultural chauvinist in that he thought the "savages" while having the same intellectual and moral capacity as Westerners they did not use all of their brains. As Gould notes, this lead Wallace to think that evolution could not evolve humans.

It wouldn't bother me if he was, but can you support that accusation? It's just that I can't recall having read anything that would lead me to believe he thought whites were superior in any biological sense.

Of course, it wouldn't matter if Darwin was a raging racist, mysoginist, homophobe, and the true face of Jack the Ripper; none of what's being said by Helen in that thread has a whit to do with the valdity of evolutionary theory. These sorts of arguments are nothing more than ad hominums against Darwin himself, and a Red Herring to distract people from the real issue: Cretinism's inability to scientifically challenge evolution.
