Post Opposition to evolution

I think more religionists oppose the idea of evolution, even the idea of God ‘using’ evolution because it spoils the whole “Mysterious Ways’ business. Even if God created the Earth 6,000 years ago by wiggling his nose, if science were to describe the process and method of the ‘nose wiggle’ and explain it, than this to would become unacceptable to many as well. There is no supernatural, only processes yet to be understood.
I know how unpopular Sitchin is a round here but he goes into this at great lengths. “Many churches oppose the idea of telepathy but if you call it praying it’s OK” Many oppose the idea of Angels or Emissaries of the Lord being Extraterrestrials, but that’s what they would be no matter what, Extraterrestrial are by definition not originating on Earth, was God born on Earth? It seems this mysterious element is required to be acceptable to the believers.
