Default Burial Forgery

Quote:
JERUSALEM, June 18 — An ancient burial box purported to have held the bones of Jesus’ brother, James, is a fake, Israel’s Antiquities Authority said Wednesday.
I was told to watch Discovery Channel this week by people who wants to save me from the clutches of hell. They say it's about James and his ossuary.

They claim that if this is true, then Jesus really existed...at least the historical one, if not the divine.

Call it "divine miracle or poetic justice",

"if it's true." It's not! Who's having the last laugh now!

I got heckled by my wife when this first came up. I knew that once all the news media hoopla died down, I'd be getting the last laugh. If I thought it would serve any purpose other than to piss her off, I'd send her the article I read on this the other day. I wonder if the truth will ever make prime time news like the original story did.

They spent about three minutes on it on Good Morning America yesterday. The Weather Guy thought it was "too bad" Charlie shrugged and said "It was too good to be true. Some people will just believe anything they want to believe." Which pretty much sums it up.

Thank steve, if they didn't rule it as fake we'd never hear the end of it in arguments even though it wouldn't mean a damn thing other than that there was a guy name jesus...

Just look at the shroud of turin

Since there's already a rollicking discussion on the subject in BC&H, I'm going to close this one.
