Default Josephus' origin

I heard an assertion that Flavius Josephus was not an actual person, per se, but rather that the man was actually Calpurnius Piso who adopted the name of Flavius Josephus...such as one would do when one adopts a pen name.

Anyone familiar with this argument and is anyone aware of the veracity of this notion?
