(I think Mel Gibson would be perfect for the role. I could just leave him hanging there for a while, as I tried to get the lights and camera angles and sound just right! ) I agree that the NT pretty well whitewashed out of the kind of cruelty that we see in the OT. But I covered that in "Bob." I think the NT is a slick PR move to burnish the Image of God and give us a new idol to worship in Jesus. Plus the Christians and Muslims did avoid the Jews one big mistake in their religion, they made their dogma exclusive to a great degree by limiting it to Jews! Hum, maybe that could be a good angle to go with in the movie.

Do any of you have any good examples of some of the bad things that happened in the Torah/OT in relation to the Jews? It could be outright cruelty or something along the lines of what the boys in Monty Python's "The Meaning of Life" did. I need a little black humor as well as the horror and sex I already have in "Holy War" on my web site.

By the way check your supermarkets cheap movie bin, I got the two disc wide screen deluxe DVD of "The Meaning of Life" the other day for $10.

We're watching waaaaaay too many Monty Python movies here...

I suppose you can back up this assertion that the Nazis were atheists with actual evidence, correct?

I mean you of all people would never make a claim that you couldn't support, right?

:rolling:

Sorry, I tried to keep a straight face while saying that...

The Nazi wore belt buckles that said Got Mit Us. or translated God is with us. Nice try BT, but that kind of crap will not work here. Most of the troops followed some kind of christian beliefs, as do the skinheads and Neo-Nazi of today.

For one thing, Hitler considered himself a Catholic. A lot of the Nazi leaders were some variant of Protestant, and a previous poster pointed out the belt buckles. To cap it all off, the Catholic Church kept its mouth shut while the Jews were being rounded up and killed en masse.

As for the cursing of a fig tree...what kind of a moronic fool curses a tree for not having figs while out of season?

Jesus didn't really "do" all that much, but he said an awful lot. So, the most revealing aspects of his moral character will be seen in the attitudes and values conveyed by his words.

Toto's list is a start.
I could imagine a rather amusingly shocking fast-paced montage of Jesus making these comments and endorsing his father's acts while images of what's being mentioned in the comments flashes on the screen.
