Default The bible is true

I am opening this thread so that those many Christian participants in other threads who have asserted, in support of other positions, that "The bible is true" may here post their evidence in support of this assertion. Any takers?

The statement "Bible is true" presents a false dichotomy.

I suppose that by saying "The bible is true" you mean that the contents of the bible really happened. I am betting that you will get no takers...

Julian.
Yet, oddly, when arguing subjects as diverse as homosexuality and evolution, Christians on this board have asserted, in support of their position, that, "The bible is true."

If this thread does not get off the ground, it might be interesting for skeptics to post items in the Bible that actually are believed to be true (thus keeping to the OP). Even historical novels can mention actual events in history accurately, though the events are usually surrounded with embellishment.

The Bible says that after the fall, mankind is inherently greedy, selfish, and self centered. That is true.

Romans Chapter 3:

3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

3:11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

(this chapter is where the notion of "salvation by faith and not works" comes from.)

Hi, rationalOne.

That says we aren't "righteous," don't "understand" and don't "seek after God." It doesn't say that "after the fall, mankind is inherently greedy, selfish, and self centered."
