Default Rant on a mythical Jesus split from Why was Jesus Killed?

I have carefully read many times the “Passion” in the four canonical gospels. The more I read, the less I believed the story! There are many imponderables and conflicting details to make it a real event. Add to the discrepancies in the “inspired text” all the in-depth studies of MANY studious researchers and the only conclusion is that there never existed anything like the so-called “Passion of Jesus Christ”. That is, then, a massive fraud in the history of universal religions.

How horrendous and disgraceful it would be to finally find out that Jesus was nothing but a myth and a religious icon to ornate altars in cathedrals. How shameful to the human race to have been led astray hooked by its nostrils for so long, while unscrupulous actors took gross advantage? And yet, two thousand years of this social aggression has not been enough to convince us that "Jesus Christ" is a public enemy!

This doesn't follow at all. There's nothing wrong with a good myth.

I too often think 'for so long' but, compared to the age of the earth etc. etc. the two thousand years in nothing. It's been upheld through ignorance, political will, ignorance and so on... it will die out in due course, comparatively shortly too.
