Default Wow, scarry Passover Lamb imagery from Christians...

I was searching for an image of a passover lamb to update my JM presentation, and I unknowing fell into a very scary word of insanity!

Check it out:

http://amazinggrace.org/tape/passlamb.html

http://illustratedword.gospelcom.net/gallery1.html

http://www.cynet.com/jesus/PROPHECY/Crucifixion.htm

I was under the impression that Christians didn't draw this strong a connection between Jesus and a sacrificial Passover Lamb, but boy was a wrong.....

That's old stuff to me - there's something in Paul's writings about Christ being "our" [his word] passover lamb, and then there's the similarity of "lamb of God", in the NT, with the most famous lamb, so to speak, of the OT, the passover lamb's blood being the thing that avert's God's wrath, etc., etc.

I know that, but I didn't realize that they got so into this imagery, that fist link is scary

I also love how they point out on one page all of the references between the gospel accounts and the OT scriptures and then conclusion, "See, it must be true!" :banghead:

Well, yes, that was new to me. The image of the lamb is ancient, but true, this is a new take.

That I get. The fountain's of blood and sheep wearing crowns of thorn are different though.
