Default The Biblical city of Haran?!?

Genisis 12:4
So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

Where is this city located?

This is the traditional belief, and as far as I know it isn't disputed.

Harran or Carrhae was notable down to the Moslem period for the worship of the moon-goddess there. It still had a pagan population in Abbasid times. It was part of the Syriac-speaking world in late-Roman times.

Ok, thank you gentlemen.

Next question; who controlled Haran and who were the people who populated that city during the time Abraham is alledged to have lived? Thanks again...
