Default Bible study as self-defense for gay-lesbian-bisexual-transgendered

Story

Quote:
Defending against those that would use the Bible as a weapon of oppression is something every lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Minnesotan has had to deal with at one time or another, but what about using that same Bible to defend themselves? That was the message at a Bible Self-Defense Course Wednesday night at Pi Bar and Restaurant in Minneapolis.

More than 100 people gathered for the first of two nights of learning the language of theology and how to respond when someone quotes Scripture to put someone else down. The timeliness of the course was notable as presenters mentioned recent comments by incoming St. Paul-Minneapolis Archbishop John Nienstedt citing scriptural admonishments against homosexuality and accusing the friends and family of LGBT people of supporting a "grave evil." The course was sponsored and organized by Soulforce, OutFront Minnesota and the Faith, Family, Fairness Alliance.

Don't tell me you're... you're... Minnesotan!
