Default Lilith and Delilah

Is the story of Sampson and Delilah derived from a Canaanite myth of some hero and the goddess Lilit/Lilith/Lilu? It seems that there are more than simply etymological similarities via the word laylah (night).

Anyone know anything more on this?

If Samson is really a demoted Sun god, then it is only natural that night be his nemesis.
