Sorry, I must have thought of Snow White (I always confuse Genesis 3 with Snow White). :Cheeky:

It should of course be "fruit" (or "edible entity" for political correctness).

As for its ability to deliver absolute moral knowledge to its consumer, I don't know, but the net effect was apparently bad: Over two thousand years later infants are still born into a state of original sin because Adam and Eve accepted dietary advice from a snake.

Only Catholics are born into 'original sin' cos' everyone else realises that Adam was innocent until after he ate the 'fruit' ,and so did not sin at all in disobeying God to eat from the tree.

He was still expelled from the garden though. Any later attempt by the pious to rationalize Adam's role (or level of disobedience) must be viewed in that context: God threw them both out - and has yet to let anyone back in.

Well God can do what He likes on His own property ...'n Eve could likely be said to sin [after eating the fruit] in her wily getting of Adam to eat it too , cos' she knew it was wrong ... God could hardly throw her out without her hubby ... but He never throws out the snake until much later.

And it seems many were let in : Jesus was let back in ... and Enoch made it without even dying [and one in every seventh generation from Adam].. and 23 other elders of Israel... quite a crowd , and not a single sinner 'christian' in sight despite that most think that they go there automatically at death... ! [What point their strange 'rapture' belief then?]

Where does it say that Enoch was allowed into the Garden of Eden?

No doubt "God works in mysterious ways" (if, of course, you assert that God "works" at all).

Since he didn't die , he is immortal ... and since he pleased God, that also is enough for translation to [immortal] spirit ... immortality is represented by the tree of life in the 'garden' [paradise, third heaven] ... the spirit belongs to God and returns to God , free to manifest and return at will after translation [from one perfected in Love], the manifestation no longer 'trapped' in the earth as we are , and no longer subject to death.

So, translation: it doesn't say that.
