Default Wtf!

I'm sure many here have seen worse but for some reason I find myself appalled by the depth of self delusion here.

That gun pointing over the reader's shoulder on the site is very unsettling.

How did you find that freak show?

I wanted to post something to the effect that those people are deluded idiots but its not worth the time to register.

They might be interested in this http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article...811332,00.html but their delusion appears set in stone.

Catholic Church no longer swears by truth of the Bible
By Ruth Gledhill, Religion Correspondent

THE hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church has published a teaching document instructing the faithful that some parts of the Bible are not actually true.

....

Similarly, they refute the apocalyptic prophecies of Revelation, the last book of the Christian Bible, in which the writer describes the work of the risen Jesus, the death of the Beast and the wedding feast of Christ the Lamb.

I shoot competitively with the GSSF. The majority of the posts on that site are about sport shooting and responsible gun ownership. However, as you've seen, there are a bunch of theotards in the aptly named "Religious Issues" forum.

I did not read the article but the quote that you had from it is really nothing new. At the Second Vatican Council the Bishops of the Catholic Church, under Pope Paul VI, rejected virtually every conservative schema that was proposed, substituting for the final conciliar documents schema that were more liberal than conservative bishops had hoped for. Since then, there has been a steady erosion in the belief that the Bible is inerrant, an idea held by virtually no Catholic theologian today. Catholicism is headed towards a "one-world theistic pantheism," and it would not be surprising to see future theologians, Councils, and even Popes embrace the idea that Jesus was not a historical person. Catholic theology is fully capable of surviving with the idea of a "mythical founder."

Wow...that's a nice collection of morons. Although it is nice to see some atheists on the board there to defend us. Funny thing is that some of those people sound very much like some of the guys I used to know. Scary.
