That one is very out of sync, but this one isn't.

It's a good lecture.

Good book, too.

I own and have read a book by Craig A. Evans called "Fabricating Jesus: How Modern Scholars Distort the Gospels (or via: amazon.co.uk)" (Christian apologetics I bought when I was still a believer)

In the book I first heard about Ehrman. Evans summerized Ehrmans' reasons for rejecting the faith, in order to refute him. In the end of the book, the most important thing that I had learned were the reasons Ehrman had for rejecting the faith. This was the first time I realized that the story about the woman caught in adultery was added to the gospel of John very late, and that the last chapter of Mark was a late addition as well (although I knew that the chapter was not in all the manuscript before reading Evans, I did not know it was never in the earliest manuscripts)

Evans confirmed that everything that Ehrman said was correct - but maintained these things and others Ehrman has mentioned are unimportant. I on the other hand was never persuaded by Evans on that matter. For me, Ehrmans reasons were important - and they were among the things that contributed to my deconversion last spring or early last summer. I was educated by Ehrman through Evans.

One more thing: cudos to Evans for not building a too weak straw man out of Ehrmans arguments. I think he represented Ehrman quite fairly.

I saw this lecture that is being linked to in this thread during this summer - and I found it very interesting.

Mark cannot have thought that Jesus was uncertain of his fate.
