Default Dung in the bible.....

Yes, it is in the KJV version most notable in Malichi 2:3

"Behold, I will coorupt your seed, and spread dung upon your faces..."

Later to be translated as "Refuse"

My point is that hell is eternal damnation and is supposed to be eternally and unimaginally painfull. It would seem to me that using the metaphore excuse on this passage would not make sense.

After all, unimaginal eternal pain couldnt be as bad as a temporary punishment as dung or trash being spread in your face, much like when a dog owner sticks the dog's nose in its mess to send a message.

So, to say that this passage is "metaphore" is selective considering the OVERWHELMING suffering and unimaginal pain of eternal hell that would make this passage pale in comparison.
