Default Mar Saba was a (Secret) Marcosian

A new English translation of a 14th century work, The Mysteries of the Greek Alphabet. As Roger Pearse notes the text is extant in a manuscript in the Bodleian library in Oxford, Ms. Huntingdon 393, written in 1393 A.D. Alin Suciu writes that the original Greek version of this text was published in 2007. See C. Bandt, Der Traktat “Vom Mysterium der Buchstaben”: Kritischer Text mit Einführung, Übersetzung und Anmerkungen (Texte und Untersuchungen, 162; Berlin: Walter de Gruyter, 2007). Nevertheless the Coptic text is the only one render in English.

My analysis of the text connecting Sabas (who is said to be the author of this text) to the Marcosian is here http://stephanhuller.blogspot.com/20...-story-on.html

FWIW I was just going through the German critical edition of the Greek text and the author (not surprisingly) makes the same connection with Marcus the heretic that I did http://books.google.com/books?id=nEA...gen%22&f=false

The author goes through and refers to Sabas as 'pseudo-Sabas'
