Default Christianity used as a defense of slavery

Maybe while talking about Christianity and Slavery one should clarify that he talks about Christianity in the States because in other places( in the regions that they were under the rule of the Ottoman Empire, for example) the Bible was used to inspire the dream of liberation.

You can find some more modern Christians - known as Dominionists or Christian Reconstructionists - who still claim that slavery was ordained by God.
