The papyri suggest that "even in exile and beyond the worship of a female deity endured."[9]*The texts were written by a group of Jews living at*Elephantine*near the*Nubian*border, whose religion has been described as "nearly identical to Iron Age II Judahite religion".[10]*The papyri describe the Jews as worshiping Anat-Yahu (or AnatYahu). Anat-Yahu is described as either the wife[11]*(or paredra, sacred consort)[12]*of Yahweh or as a hypostatized aspect[13]*of Yahweh.[14][15] http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elephantine_papyri

As a matter of fact it's more than likely that this analysis refers to EVA and the sect who worshiped her. They had remained stayed underground from the days of Elephantine until they resurfaced in Czestochowa after 1770. (!!)
http://lightofagoldenday.blogspot.co...1_archive.html There many such groups in history. As a matter of fact, the Jerusalem Talmud in tractate Sanhedrin says that the Temple was not destroyed until 24 sects of minim had emerged. Quote:

And most certainly there were not 600,000 warriors here. Some 500 years later the Israelites had forgotten the beginings of their modest history and so somebody made up a history whose main point was that God gave them the land they were trying to occupy. The tribes were there and there is evidence of them, but most of them were eliminated by the Assyrians. lack of writing and writen material leaves us no true historical material until long after Israel was there, we have material from the later Babylonians and Assyrians. Nobody cares if the characters of Plato's dialogues did not exist or did not really say the words Plato put in their mouths. Nobody really cares if there was an Atlantis or not though incredible amounts of ink have been wasted on that subject. There may be some interest in if there was a king Arthur, but nobody is interested in proving all the shaggy dog tales that accreted around the basic story, nobody tries to prove there was a lady in the lake. But bad mythology can have bad effects. The tales of Aryan Nordics and Nazi Germany for example. the tales of Mohammed lead to centuries of jihad and invasions of Spain, France , italy all the way to India. The exodus tall tale still affects millions of Americans who vote for parties and policies based on tall tales. This all is not a dead issue with no possible effects. Yes, Israel must be restored so the second coming can be accomplished. The bible is literally true and the words of god, so we cannot have competent science education, evolution, in our schools, gays cannot marry and we cannot allow competent family planning. Every sperm is sacred. Mythology has consequences. Myths can still have power to make things happen, so it matters. Cheerful Charlie |

Then start producing some!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You only have rhetoric! trying to explain the exodus right next to christians backing YEC. Noah and a flood, 800 year old men, and a exodus all buried under polytheism redacted to monotheism. Practice what you preach, we have Finklestein and Dever reporting FACTS you ignore. |

Why are we getting dragged down further and further into theological debate?
But if Finkelstein and Dever were around with recordings of events they witnessed in history, that would be great to see. Otherwise it doesn't pay to discuss this since anything I propose will be ignored and rejected but folks like you, Outhouse. I cannot expect you to accept the idea that in previous millennia the laws of nature were not as they are now. Nor can I expect you to accept the notion of the function of spiritual forces (of whatever type) that you cannot perceive, or of changes in time and space. You sound frustrated, but that's not my concern here. Quote:

Are you planning a new educational program for the New World Order??
If it is more important to you to archaeologically prove the existence of the Exodus than of the existence of Aristotle, Plato, Socrates, Alexander the Great, Julius Caesar and Cleopatra, that's your choice. Quote:

You don't understand a sense of humor when you see it, do you?
He was writing something about the idea that Israelites worshiped a female deity, so I reminded readers that this was true of the followers of the sect of Jacob Frank and his daughter, the Female Messiah, Eva, who died around 1806 who was defined by her father as the Madonna of Czestechowa in around 1770. "Somebody" made up a history, and managed not only to fool all those without exception of their own generation, but all those of subsequent ones, including gentile admirers, Christians, Samaritans, Karaites, Muslims and who knows who else?!
