Point of order ... do you have her permission to post publically something she said privately, in a PM? (If your posts contains such) Just a courtesy issue

Hi Roger!

Acharya S replied to my PMs. However, what I have posted here, it is what I wrote to her, namely my own material, that is legitimate, and nobody can impede me from posting it.

What I have posted about the comments by Acharya, it is the same that Acharya has included in its bulletin board: ergo, public material. Therefore, no violation of privacy .....

Greetings

PS: I will soon post a message that could possibly astound you .. (and probably not just to you)

So let me see if I understand you. You are saying that since Acharya S replied to your PMs that that gives you some sort of license to share your half of those PMs with the entire world.

Is that right?

Is that what you are saying?

I believe that you should be allowed to post your own material (the things you write) wherever you want. That would include PMs, emails, in posts on public forums, newspapers, and good old-fashioned mail.

But the ‘privacy’ aspect of a PM goes beyond the text of the message. The ‘privacy’ aspect includes the very fact that you are engaged in sharing PMs - including when and how you share them. Even letting the world know that someone else has ignored your PMs may violate someone's right to privacy.

The world doesn’t need to know the intimate details of your PMs with Acharya S.

Somewhere you have crossed a line. We don’t need to know exactly where that line is in order to know that you’ve crossed it. And I believe that you have - and I bet a lot of other forumites think you have too.

Yep.

courtesy = privacy.

The rules are not etched in stone. Privacy is not a matter of Law. It is a matter of Fact – to be determined by a judge on a case-by-case basis.

May be you're a little 'hard' to understand it......

I said that what I have posted here in the forum FRDB, is what I wrote to Acharya, NOT what Acharya wrote to me! ... For which a reason I can't to report to the public what I wrote? ....

The only things that Acharya has written, and that I've reported, have been inserted by Acharya in her 'bulletin-board': ergo, it is a public material!...

Your useless and absurd pedantry, it shows that you are really 'out'! ... I'M NOT violated any privacy, since I HAVE NOT made public the contents of the responses of Acharya! ... So, what sense have your relief?

"..The world doesn’t need to know the intimate details of your PMs with Acharya S..."

But what are you saying?...The one that you call simply 'intimate details', are an expression of my thinking about the arguments put forward by Acharya instead! ... If you aren't interested in these 'intimate details', nobody forces you to read them! .. Maybe, instead, that there is someone that may be interested, since the contacts to my thread there are enough....

This seems a little excessive to me. I'm very much in favour of respecting confidence; but has this been violated?

It is the negative statements about Archya S's response or unwillingness to further respond to, or to engage PMs received from Littlejohn. (understandable) That choice to not engage nor encourage any further communications from him is a private affair on her part.
At the very least it is impolite and extremely bad manners to publicly recite and use what was represented as being a 'PM', _a private 'Pm' communication' in a one sided fashion in this public forum, with malice and intent to by so doing impugn her character.
Do you not understand what the letter 'P' in 'Pm' stands for Littlejohn?
