You can post it in the "what started Christianity" thread if you think you have something that even remotely makes any sense at all. I haven't seen anything yet from any mythicist that fits reality. |

http://www.baylorpress.com/Book/48/8...y_Believe.html My point is this: If 1% of Americans believe Jesus never existed, and if 13% of Brits believe Jesus never existed, then it is not the ‘scholarship’ or the ‘evidence’ that is lacking. It's a social thing. Like obesity or cigarette smoking. No kidding. - Bingo |

Lets look at your quote mining, you forgot this part. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christ_myth_theory However, Walter Kania, a former Pastor and Director of a United Campus Ministry at Michigan State University was highly critical of the study saying "the statistics and conclusions in the book were made of fundamentalist concoctions and cooked statistics". So that is a big "IF" your trying to mine. |

Why would you find it depressing? He has also stated Nazareth probably existed in the time of Jesus, going against Rene Salm. Is that also depressing? You use wiki as a source, yet wiki claims there are two facts regarding Jesus LIFE, his baptism by John in the Jordan, and his crucifixion. Is that depressing? |
