Yeah right. I like you. I like McGrath. I like Jim West. Don't get me started about that other guy. It's not me saying this it's straight from Wordpress apparently. The latest from Neil at his Facebook account (the only way he's communicating right now):

Wordpress has accordingly deactivated my Vridar blog. I received no warning, no take-down notice, no complaint whatever. Only a sudden deactivation of my blog.

I have been told by Wordpress that I must contest this complaint by legal means if I wish to have my blog reactivated. But I have received no complaint or warning at all. So I have no idea how I can contest anything.

And just as an intellectual exercise - how do you know with such certainty that it wasn't Joel? Isn't the implication of what you are saying that Joel is a more trustworthy source than Neil? Why would Neil lie about this?

And what if Neil produced an email from Wordpress to this effect? Please don't tell me that you would still side with Joel on this one? As I said, I've made consistently positive reference to you, Jim West, James McGrath and the rest of the folks at the Biblioblog Club. Please explain why Joel is next to Jesus and Mary in terms of immaculateness.

I retract my earlier post. That said...

It is my understanding that Neil was asked to cease wholly copying full text from Joel's blog to which he did not comply. All he had to do was summarize to link and quote snippets to accomplish the same task. Instead he didn't listen. It had nothing to do with content, it had to do with going against DMCA fair use. This holds true for everyone. DMCA did give Godfrey a chance to fix it. He didn't do it. And he got burned as a result.

I should show y'all what Joel did to me. This went into affecting my livelihood, my family, my wife and my kids. All for having the silliest of disputes with him.
