What about thermodynamics and god? God is a closed system, he existed before everything anyway so he had no means to receive additional energy. Having created the universe and dolphins he had to expense energy. Without means to acquire more this would mean he is finite. Being finite he is in contradiction to the definition that he is infinite. To be infinite he couldn't expend energy to produce dolphins, the net change would be zero.
Since god is a closed system, and he has presumably existed for billions of years his energy allocation is running down. God has so little power now he is either a burnt out cinder or he only has the ability to write movies based on old television shows. Of course an apologist can simply redefine his gods to meet any situation. But that is really all god is isn't it, simply a definition created by a person's imagination. |

That's an amusing point, DougI, but not very applicable. A god would not exist subject to the laws of thermodynamics, thermodynamics onaly applies to natural occurences within the universe and frankly thermodynamics is misunderstood by 99% of people *the engineer sighs!*
Actually, the thing I find really galling is Morris. He is a hydraulic engineer, and should have a very good knowledge of entropy, as it forms the basis of hlaf of what engineers do. But he is also one of the major abusers of the theory. He MUST know that he is being dishonest, otherwise I see no way he could have passed his exams. He makes statements I could have disproved in high school, let alone my degree-level knowledge! |
