A theist Gal.
Lets say you were a "True Atheist"(R)(Co)(TM). You are no longer, and therefore presumably have some different opinions as to when you were an Atheist. (I.e. Some of your beliefs have changed.) As a now "True Catholic"(R)(Co)(TM), thanks to those fine men in red/yellow, shouldn't you be the one turning the other cheek, especially after Kally stopped saying anything to you? It's all well and good to turn the other cheek, if you're then going to stab them in the back as they walk away. |

Hi Christine, long time no see. We first conversed on the Battlefield Earth thread last year just before 9/11. I sent you a couple of links to some of my work published here on the Sec-Web, perhaps you remember them. In any event, I find your re-conversion a sad thing. I think MK had it right, and your conversion to atheism was brought on by the pressure to please the man in your life who was an atheist. That is too bad, as this thread, (Is God the Biggest Mass Murderer of all Time?) points out the biggest problem (In my opinion) in all three of the Abrahamic religions underpinnings. How anyone with a rational mind could ignore this obvious problem, and profess belief in, and the desire to be a slave to such a “God” is beyond me. I wish you luck in your life’s journey, and hope you will at some point in the future find your way back to the side of rational, logical thought.
By the way, I was going to post this link above on your friends BB site, but it required too much personal info for me. I don’t post my real address, and think it is asking too much to require someone to give it for the right to post on his BB. You or Helen can post it there if you like, and I will reply, if I don’t have to give up such personal info to do so. David [ July 01, 2002: Message edited by: David Payne ]
|

Left: Yeah, go for it! You could string this out forever! Besides, you wouldn't want him to think he's won, would you? Right: Nah, call a halt. You've both gone far enough with this. Quit wasting each other's time. Left: But there are still points to be made! What about that "objective facts" stuff? I mean, don't we need to correct that misconception? It was just a poor choice of words, after all! Right: What, and open up another front for debate? I don't think so. Left: So - we just leave it where this guy thinks he's won? Right: Oh, I don't think this is about winning any more... anyway, why should he care about what someone he's never met, on the other side of the world, thinks of him? Left: Excuse me - that's - what a fellow Aussie thinks of him - I mean, we can care less about what the Yanks think, but come on... Right: Well someone's got to pull the pin; and from the look of these two, no-one wants to go first. At least this Gurdur guy has offered the option. Left: It's a trick, I tell you! He wants us to call a halt, so he can accuse us of ducking the issue again! Right: I think that's a very uncharitable view. Arrowman interrupts: Excuse me guys, but I've made up my mind. <Flicks left angel off shoulder.> No thanks Gurdur, I think we've gone far enough. See you another time and I promise I'll be civil. |

Does it really matter if she was a true atheist©? Sounds like a true scotsman fallacy to me.

Oh, this has been SO much fun!
But it's almost holiday time, and since I plan to spend the next several days updating my first, best and most important website (Women Who Run With The Stooges!), you probably won't be seeing me again for a while. So -- thanks for the, ahem, interesting conversation! And remember, whether you're a theist or an atheist, Moe Rules!
