But isn't Lady A making the faulty assumption that Post-marital promiscuity is somehow less dangerous than pre-marital promiscuity ??

I think Lady would slaughter anyone who committed adultery...how many people would be left?

Lady A, the world as you see it is an intresting place, really odd but intresting.

In reading your post and the subsequent responses I am forced to conclude:

A ban on pre-marital sex can not be assumed to decrease STD's etc. There is the whole issue of post-marital promiscuity...And who are we to tell the Smiths from Omaha that they can't have a menage-a-trois?

It is absurd to a) blame children for events they had no control over and b) encourage society to return to the state of shaming and ostrasizing 'bastard' children.

Sorry there isn't more to debate here but between the incomplete logic and the call to repression and abuse of human rights, there isn't much to say. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

I don't know what sort of CHRX "lady A" = "BAX" categorizes itself as; but 'Bax" might perhaps consider the value to su-self of practising "custody of the eyes", an old RC advice = minding one's own business. Lots of good NT/gospel red-letter quotes about that, Bax.: wheat& tares; motes & beams; Jews throwing stones, et tutti cuanti.

Lady Trebexian whatever is absolutely right. We must work together to ban every single thing that transmits disease.

First no more public bathrooms, at least no unsanitary ones.

Next, no more public water fountains.

Then we will need to hire doorknob sanatizers to clean doorknobs, and all surfaces in fact, that are touched by people before they are touched by other people.

Then of course, we need to have everyone wearing filtered masks to keep out those pesky airborn bacteria.

No wait, how about total atmosphere isolation suits, the ultimate condom if you ask me.

But they might fail. I know, let's pump the air out of the atmosphere, no more air, no more air born diseases.

Lady Ant. . . Life involves predator and prey. Life involves host and parasite. Evolution(which relies on sex to create and maintain diversity by the way) is a constant and never ending race between predator and prey, and parasite and host. This is life.

Will you forever be tilting at windmills? If the answer is yes, can you at least read a freaking book so that you are not quite so . . . foolish sounding? Trust me, god wants you to read a book.

Lovely literary allusion in your post about book reading!
