Yes, I think people should be fined if they blatantly disregard safety warnings. Even many resuce efforts in mountains and forest via helicopter, etc, can be extremely dangerous for the rescuers. Water safety is another bone of contention with me. I mean, we fine people who speed on the roads, don't we? And that is a deterrant in the name of road safety - perhaps we need to be more strict in other areas that endanger lives, also.
Also, back to the mountain/ski thing - skiers and snowboarders who leave designated safe areas, are also more likely to cause devestating avalanches. And when it comes to road accidents, I just can't look. I hate the sight of blood. When I'm approaching a crash scene, my heart quickens and I get the sweats. If there is an off-road, i will always take it - I can't bear to see anything like it. |

Its a spectacle.
Its no different than why people want to go drive through the neighborhoods with the super elaborate Christmas light displays. When I was younger there was a neighboring town that got hit by a tornado. Not a horribly bad disaster in this case. A few days later I took the long way home so I could see some of the aftermath. I don't think its a big deal. DC |
