If you're a newbie, as I am, does one bother posting a "Hey Here I Am" thread (consider this as being that thread) or do you just start posting?

Don't flame me too badly for asking this question. I did say I'm a newbie.

Don't worry; you are almost certain to be abused by someone at some point who disagrees with you in what you say. From my experience, if you want abuse, write something saying that there is a lot of sexism in the world. It has worked for me in a couple of threads. But I don't promise you that it will work in all cases, so you may have to make a couple of different posts, preferably in different categories.

I KNEW this would happen.

Ok, here comes the very platonic story about how I got the name.

I waltzed into a bulletinboard chat room one night, and was feeling somewhat bold, so I decided to name myself 'Stud Muffin.'

Only problem was that I did not discover I had actually typed "STUFF Muffin" untili I got in there and was soundly beaten about the head and chest with a cat o nine tails for it. So ever since then the name just sort of stuck.

If you prefer to think I got it in a different way, well, I won't stop you from thinking that.
