There's a slight difference in saying that our current president should be defeated and saying that you're ashamed to be from the same state. The former is a reasonable position which, would presume that a more qualified or ideologically inclined individual is prepared to sumbit their name for nomination, the latter is an inflammatory insult that provides no content other than to insult the subject and call the espouser's sense of tact into question.
So I guess that no GOP leaders or their cronies in the media like Rush Limbaugh neither stated that they were "ashamed" of President Clinton nor questioned his motives during our armed conflict in Serbia during which American troops were in harms way did they? Oh I forgot, since the GOP is the Patriot Police, they aren't subject to the same rules of Patriotism that everyone else is. They are Patriotic per se.

Also, the Dixie Chicks are un-American, just like all the other protestors. We mustn't forget that.

3) one of the chief fears is that one of the terrorist groups will be given a WMD?
Perhaps some people would support such an attack on Israel, but few would. Most are just concerned about the hypocrisy that exists between our treatment of the Israelis and the Palestinians, where we routinely condemn acts of terror by the Palestinians, but condone acts of terror by the state of Israel including the slaying of innocent protesters in a similar fashion to the manner in which protesters in Tieneman Square were killed. Our unapologetic support, consisting of 20 billion dollars in aid anually, for the state of Israel regardless of their conduct is one of the primary reasons that we are so hated in much of the Arab World. We should at a minimum cut off our financial Aid to Israel unless they agree to quit settling illegally in the West Bank and stop needlessly killing so many innocent Palestinians. If we are ever to gain any respectability in the Arab world, we must begin to condemn acts of needless violence by the state of Israel as harshly as we condemn acts of needless violence by the Palestinians.

Have you ever considered the possibility that our policy toward the state of Israel is the primary reason that terrorist groups that hate America are so widespread throughout the region? Have you ever considered the possibility that more "retaliatory violence" will only result in the continuation of a perpetual cycle of violence that will NEVER end unless someone lays down their arms?

Where did I ever indicate that patriotism was a partisan issue? The basic tenet of patriotism is the setting aside of partisan differences in support of the republic.

Mr Superbad,

They may be Ba'athists like Saddam, but its difficult to argue they hate Islamists when they support Hezbollah (the army of god) and Hamas. That said, I don't support any attacks on Syria.

Hummmm, i smell a rat...
Its too good to be true!
I bet the warmongers in Washington are just trying to get our guards down, and then BAAANGG!!! They hit us with another war!
Besides, the plan is already a done deal. It exists for some years now. This piece of news is just part of the misinformation campaign.
Unless of course, if Bush developed a brain, but that sounds just too much farfetched to be real...
It is geneticlly impossible for Bush to develop a brain, just as it is geneticlly impossible for Rumsfeld to develop a backbone!!!
As for Tony Blair, he has to have a serious case of herpes from all that ass kissing...
