I once had a dream in which a man claimed "If you are a Hindu, there is a special significance to being in a shark's mouth." Is this true? Or is it one of the bizarre prodigies that my unbalanced slumbering brain has produced? What do you think, my learned friends?

You get to see things differently when you convert from one belief to another?

Hmmm ... sorry, that's not how it works in my world. No matter what belief/religion you are, you only see what you wish to see.

Anyway, I just wait for someone who IS a Hindu to explain this one.

Then again, there might be none. It was a dream. I have dreamt bizarre and meaningless things before, its just another thread in the misc discussions made me remember that one, and if there was anything to it.

somehow i doubt that a dream should be taken seriously 99% of the time. most of my dreams are bizarre in the extreme, but i don't go around attaching religious bullshit to them.

Haha. I have no idea if you are serious, but I don't think it matters. I see the question as sort of an ink blot test - what WILL people make of such a strange thought?

Then I start to see meaning in it, so I think I really am mad.

The food chain.
The great circle of life.
A clear rejection of the xian principle of human dominion over nature.
And the thought that he's about to find out if anyone knows what they're talking about! Or maybe not!

If one is a convert, doesn't it follow that one 'IS a Hindu'? Seeing things differently would precede the conversion, not follow it.

It was just a damn joke, anyway.

Can't say I have much experience in that. This whole topic about sharks and Hindus don't seems to make much sense to me.

It is true that I had such a dream. I am wondering whether it was a result of some fact that I heard or read somewhere and then conciously forgot, then remembered subconciously, or merely a fabrication of the sleeping mind. Or possibly it could be some kind of philosophical event that may spark a spirited debate.

Seraphim, you were the one who was complaining that no one was active here a while ago.
