Although morphological evolution amongst plants cannot generally be illustrated to the same resolution as some microfossil and vertebrate groups, I would argue that the temporal pattern of first appearances amongst the plant orders, classes, and families is itself good evidence for evolution (although one could also interpret the pattern in terms of progressive creation). Petreley I'm afraid is both an ass and a crank.
I remember when he kicked everyone out of his Evolutionist forum because he couldn't deal with people posting evidence and using links to articles on talkorigins. Sad, sad irate fellow. I find him to be nothing but a loud, bull-headed know-nothing. I rather think his "challenge" is a waste of anyone's time. .T. |

Thank you Oolon and Patrick for the helpful links.
I agree with Typhon that it would be a waste of time for anyone to work too hard on this. I was just checking to see if there was a quick answer. Back to the petreley and randman show... LFOD |

Somebody on that thread needs to start asking Nick to produce absolute proof that gawd created the universe without using the babble as proof.

It has been done. The answer: silence.
To be fair, he admits that his belief in creationism is largely based on the Bible. His beef is a Phil Johnsonesque one -- that evolution is bad science and that evolutionists are, in essence, stupid liars. |

I have a few links that might be of help.
Smooth change in the fossil record: <a href="http://www.cs.colorado.edu/~lindsay/creation/fossil_series.html" target="_blank">http://www.cs.colorado.edu/~lindsay/creation/fossil_series.html</a> Ammonites: <a href="http://www.kheper.auz.com/gaia/biosphere/molluscs/Cephalopoda.htm" target="_blank">http://www.kheper.auz.com/gaia/biosphere/molluscs/Cephalopoda.htm</a> Ostracods: <a href="http://www.gre.ac.uk/directory/earthsci/ostracod/Index.htm" target="_blank">http://www.gre.ac.uk/directory/earthsci/ostracod/Index.htm</a> I have 8 plant evo links, but none have just what you seem to be looking for all in one place. Let me know if you want them anyway. I'll look in Friday PM. |
