Cool

There is still cellular damage in liquid nitrogen freezing. This is unavoidable.

The new technique is called vitrification and it's been used quite successfully in transplant tissues. (Where it completely stops things like free radicals.) The problem is using vitrification on something as massive as a full body. This is being worked on...

cool subject, I can see the 26th century now... it's the hottest ethical subject, philosophy classes are taught on it, sooner or later a country will lift the ban and someone will finally be revived. The fundamentalists of the future will say "This is what the bible predicted all along...the soul was only sleeping waiting to be raptured...God's will is for this man to have a second chance at being saved. All glory to God!!!" <img src="graemlins/banghead.gif" border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" />

Your time frame is off... (will be much sooner than the 26th century) but the scary part is that the rest of it.... I can see happening. *shudders*

Cool

You don't have to be wealthy to get life insurance. (It helps, sure.... but really all you need is a job...)
Now if Alcor and similar foundations were requiring cash out of pocket, you'd be right.
